It has a sweet, floral, slightly dry, rose-like scent.
It is distilled from spread weeds collected before the flower emerges. The highest oil yield is achieved when the plant is completely dried about a week after cutting. Originally from India. It has also been obtained from the Comoros and Madagascar. It grows in different environments and altitudes. Also known as “Rosha” as “Indian Geranium Oil” and often resembles the more expensive rose.
Chemical components: Geraniol, citronellol, farnesol (alcohols), citral, citronellal (aldeydes), geranyl acetate (ester), diterpene, limonene (terpene).
Effect on the skin: It restores the water balance and stimulates the natural secretion of sebum, which appears to be a beneficial oil for dry skin. It also helps skin re-grow by aiding cell regeneration. It helps to remove wrinkles.
