Latin name: Corylus avellana
Family: Betulaceae
Contains oleic acid, linoleic acid, vitamins and minerals. The Corylus Americana tree is native to North America. Corylus avellana is native to Europe. The seeds (or nuts) of both species can be eaten as food. Hazelnut oil contains 66-85% oleic acid, 7-25% linoleic acid, 4-9% palmitic acid and 1-6% stearic acid.
Hazelnut oil and other essential oils are used as carrier oil.
