It has a woody and slightly spicy, clear and refreshing scent. Cypress is a tall, conical tree common in the Mediterranean region. It is found in the Greek islands and Turkey. It is evergreen, hard and durable reddish in color with brown-gray cones. Once cut, it never grows back, although leaves and branches apparently wilt longer than other species. Its essential oil is obtained in France and Germany. The Egyptians used it for various medicinal purposes. Because it did not rot easily, the Greeks considered it a good tool for engraving statues of their Gods. Hence its name means “sempervirens = to live forever”. Cough medicines for children were once used for whooping cough. Today it is used in perfumery, especially in masculine fragrances. It has calming properties,
